Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common neuropathy condition caused by entrapment of the median nerve. Perineural injection therapy with 5% dextrose or prolotherapy becoming method for treating carpal syndrome. Although it effective, some anatomical variaton nerve could effect outcome in CTS. In this case, variation was found through imaging. Prolotherapy to be an effective treat But affect effectiveness injection. BACKGROUND Carpal tunnel syndrome is a sporadically occurring abnormality due to compression of median nerve. It is exceedingly rare for it to be caused by thrombosis of persistent median artery. CASE REPORT A forty two year old female was referred for ultrasound examination due to ongoing wrist pain, not relived by pain killers and mild paresthesia on the radial side of the hand. متن کاملCoexistence of trifid and bifid median nerve in a patient with bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome.
Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common upper extremity neuropathy in the wrist that may be associated with anatomic variations of median nerve. Trifurcation of the median nerve has been very rarely reported in the literature. We report coexistence of bilateral median nerve variation in the wrist and its radiological features. Ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging was performed to th...
